Hello — I'm Nathalys, and I'm delighted you're here!

I am the CEO & founder of Sosiego LLC, which specializes in personalized wellness programs designed to bring serenity and balance into your life. My background includes 200-hour certified yoga training in vinyasa flow, specialized certification in breathwork and yoga nidra, and an international degree in modern languages and didactics.  My collective experiences enable me to approach sessions with a rich cultural perspective as well as a commitment to effective teaching methodologies.

My story

My journey in this field began as a deeply personal one, stemming from a need to heal past traumas, manage stress from the never-ending hustle, and find inner peace as an Afro-Latina immigrant living and working in the U.S.

The practice and philosophy of yoga, including yoga nidra and breathwork, has been a transformative force in my life. It has provided me with solace and deep healing during a period of intense personal struggle both at work and in my personal life. It has given me the tools and motivation to befriend my breath, body, and mind. Ultimately, the practice has empowered me to address challenges with stress, sleep, and internal and relational tension.
Yoga helped me encounter solace and deep healing, which has motivated me to pursue an in-depth study of anatomy, gentle yoga, and yoga philosophy.

During an intensive two-month study of mysore style ashtanga yoga in France, I deepened my understanding and commitment to these disciplines.

This foundation has served as the basis for my unique, customized coaching services, designed to help address individual needs and foster sustainable well-being. With years of experience assisting trauma survivors, supporting refugees, advocating for foster youth, and promoting equity and inclusion through research, education, and training ...

... I have come to realize that there is a universal need for healing, and for practical tools that can help us achieve serenity in all aspects of our lives.

My professional experiences have made it clear to me that the healthier and happier we become within, the more balanced and serene we can be as a whole — and this can positively impact the world around us. That is why I founded Sosiego, which in Spanish means serenity.

The word sosiego encapsulates serenity, balance, quiet, silence. Sosiego has my heart. It's where I share my passion with others. And through structured online programs and immersive in-person experiences that blend ancient yoga wisdom with modern practices, I provide services to help you reduce stress, improve sleep, and resolve tension — allowing you to embrace a vibrant, serene, and harmonious life.

My coaching draws from the skills and tools I've gained from my experiences to help you increase self-confidence and maintain serenity (sosiego) when facing personal or professional challenges.

Join me on this journey ...

... toward holistic wellness and toward encountering sosiego. Let's work together to achieve balance and well-being in a way that is tailored to your unique goals and needs.

“True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life.
Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived.
Yoga doesn’t care about what you have been; yoga cares about the person you are becoming.
Yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose, and for it to be truly called yoga, its essence must be embodied.”

-Aadil Palkhivala, Fire of Love

DEI statement

I am Afro-Latina dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the yoga community, while also honoring yoga's ancient origins in India with deep respect and reverence. Yoga encompasses meditation, physical postures, and philosophical teachings, and it offers a timeless path to self-discovery, inner peace, and holistic well-being.

In a world marred by oppression and systemic injustices, yoga should not serve as an escape or a means to turn away from reality. Instead, it is a powerful tool that can help us heal, encouraging us not perpetuate cycles of harm. Through self-awareness and mindfulness cultivated on the mat, we can learn to genuinely love and serve others.

Still, it's critical to acknowledge the historical abuse that has tarnished the yoga community. Such abuse is unacceptable and must be confronted with transparency, accountability, and a commitment to change. At Sosiego, I advocate for a culture of safety, respect, and ethical conduct in all yoga spaces. I am committed to addressing and dismantling harmful practices, ensuring that everyone, regardless of background or identity, feels safe and supported.

I offer free resources and inclusive classes and practices that foster mindfulness, compassion, and active engagement. Representation and inclusivity are central to my work. As a one-woman show, I am dedicated to ensuring that everything I do is equitable and empowering for all. I continuously educate myself to improve my practices and advocate for social justice within and beyond the yoga community.

Yoga welcomes individuals from all religious backgrounds, encouraging practitioners to explore and deepen their own spiritual journey aligned with personal beliefs and values. This inclusivity fosters unity and respect among diverse communities. Through yoga, individuals find common ground, cultivate mindfulness, and experience inner peace regardless of their religious affiliation.

I am committed to creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcomed and valued. Join me in honoring yoga’s origins with respect and humility while advocating for modern-day inclusivity and social justice.

Let's celebrate the diversity of yoga practitioners worldwide, prioritize equity, and build a community where everyone can experience the transformative power of yoga in a safe and supportive environment.

Now for the fun stuff

My background

I'm a Pisces, am happily married, and come from a large family with eight siblings. I grew up in Caracas, Venezuela — a place marked by a resilient culture and filled with some of the most warm-hearted and happiest people in the world.

This background is integral to who I am and has profoundly shaped my approach to wellness.

Adventure enthusiast

I have a passion for travel and have explored more than 18 countries and counting. I cherish the serenity of the beach, but mountains hold a special place in my heart.

A poem in the works: I love the salads in Greece, bread from Indonesia, smoothies in Egypt, rice from Korea, the lifestyle in France, the freedom of the Netherlands, the nightlife in Prague, the sounds of Vienna, the coziness of Morocco, the warmth of Mexico — to be continued ...

Culinary explorer:

I enjoy cooking, especially creating new vegetarian dishes and experimenting with fusion cuisines. My recipes often come from the heart, allowing my imagination to run free. I believe that if you can make veggies taste amazing, you’re a truly great cook.

Music & dance lover:

Music has always had a profound influence in my life. Growing up in a dance studio surrounded by Latin rhythms, I developed a deep appreciation for movement and sounds. I even have a DJ set and dream of DJ'ing for a Latin party someday.

Some extras:

After years of practicing yoga, my favorite pose remains Utthita Trikonasana. It helps me find balance, both physically and mentally. Apart from Yoga, I enjoy cross-fit, hiking, and long walks and conversations with friends and family.
